George Siemens and emerging educational technology: this week on the Future Trends Forum

George_Siemens_at_UNESCO_Conference_2009This week we continue our emerging technology theme on the Future Trends Forum, as George Siemens will be my guest.

George is an international recognized innovator and thinker in educational technology, known in part for helping develop connectivism learning theory.  He’s the author of several books, including Knowing Knowledge. Siemens currently leads the Technology Enhanced Knowledge Research Institute (TEKRI) at Athabasca University, while also crossing North America to lead the University of Texas-Arlington’s LINK lab.  His blog is always illuminating and provoking.

I plan on asking George about the emerging field of learning data and analytics (cf this post).  We also may discuss how humanity itself is changing in the digital age (as per this other post).

Please click here to RSVP for the event, which is open to anyone and takes place on Thursday, May 26, from 2-3 PM EST.  You may also click that link when the Forum starts, so you can jump right in.
