Emerging technologies in education: Phil Long on this week’s Future Trends Forum

This week the Future Trends Forum shifts its focus from economics and open education, towards addressing emerging technologies for higher education.

 My guest will be Phil Long.

Phil is currently the Vice Provost for Learning Sciences and Deputy Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Texas.

 A dynamic leader, transnational in practice and futuristic in vision, Phil has been a leader in bleeding-edge educational technology at MIT and the University of Queensland, Brisbane.

 Together we will explore student data analytics and their implications for institutions and privacy (for instance), along with the possibilities of blockchain technology and new forms of credentialing (for example).
